I grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania with seven brothers and sisters. Graduating from Penn State University with a
Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1982, I began a 20 year teaching career in both special education
and regular ed. at the elementary level.
I moved to Mexico Beach in 1985 seeking sun, sand and surf. I experienced my first hurricane a few months
after moving here! I remember vividly the police cruising the streets announcing a mandatory evacuation.
Having no where to go, I called my mother having to admit that moving to Florida was a huge mistake!
I survived, however, due to some great friends rescuing me and have survived all other hurricanes since!
I can't imagine living anywhere else.
I married Chip in 1990. He owns and captain's the charter boat "The Miss Mary". We built the first "Miss Mary"
together in our front yard. We've upgraded several times since! Chip has taught me to fiberglass, fish, and scuba dive,
but I've drawn the line at learning to clean fish and cook!
I taught in Port St. Joe and Panama City until 2002 when I came to the conclusion that a career change was
important for my sanity and the safety of some parents, children and school administrators. So, I became
self employed
as a licensed Florida Realtor and have been a million dollar plus seller ever since. In 2006 I became a licensed
Broker Associate.
My success as a Realtor relies on repeat business and referrals. My customers come first. I go the extra mile
for all of them no matter how small or large the transaction. I am open and honest as well as determined to
make the deal work! I've met many interesting people from all over the United States and have made some

The first time we came to Mexico Beach we fell in love with the area and the
hunt was on for our new home. Somehow we lucked out and found Mary Blackburn
for our realtor. Mary spent some time with us learning what kind of space we

gave up. After a few false starts she found our piece of heaven a block and a

at a fair price for the seller. By the time it was all said and done we felt
as though we had made a new friend as well as found a new home.

I´ve been thinking about dropping you a line! Mostly because I miss our "frequent" emails back and forth! Seriously ? I think there were days when we had a dozen or more. That´s one of the things we appreciated most 3;.your availability and willingness to keep us as informed as possible. It´s stressful to buy a home and more so when you are doing it from another state! Just knowing that we could reach you almost anytime was reassuring.
